About Us
The American Soccer League (A.S.L.) is a premier professional soccer consortium based in the United States. It seeks to attract the highest level of professional players and produce some of the most exciting soccer in the World, as all thirty two North American League teams vie for the coveted Sir Stanley Matthews trophy. The League consists of 31 games for each team, with each team playing all other teams once, in either, fifteen, or, sixteen home matches. The top 7 Teams from each conference are entered into a single elimination playoff, with the winner, being awarded the Sir Stanley Matthews Trophy, and a first round bye for the two Conference winners. Additionally, each Team is entered into the A.S.L. International Cup which is a single elimination tournament featuring all teams from the A.S.L. and select Teams from the professional Leagues in China, India, and Japan. The tournament consists of potentially, either, 5 or, 6 rounds with a 64 Team Draw. The League is slated to commence competition in 2023.
The League will play matches with 2 consecutive 45 minute half periods, observing all F.I.F.A. rules of soccer, except providing for unlimited substitutions, and ordering 4 minute powerplays for Yellow cards, where a player must remain off the pitch for that amount of time, and then can return to the pitch to make a full eleven players again. The referees will also be empowered to order such powerplays for excessive dissension from any player.

Finally, all injury time for each half will also feature three soccer balls in play, instead of just one, known as the “Wild Duration.” If a goal is scored the goalkeepers will be responsible for entering the other 2 balls, into play in addition to the kickoff. Any personal foul will result in a stoppage and free kicks for the aggrieved Team at the positions of all three balls, including a penalty if a ball is in play in the penalty box, even if the foul occurs at the site of one of the other 3 balls. The A.S.L. is offering selected qualified Business Leaders and Companies, the opportunity to own and operate Franchises in the League. Please review the Franchise Ownership page to learn more about, expense, prerequisites, and the opportunity to invest in a professional sports entertainment franchise that is truly one of a kind. Finally, all A.S.L. matches will be live streamed online via our site, and our site will be consistently updated with exciting media, such as player interviews and press conferences, highlights, and league statistics.
St. Thomas F.c. is already the official title sponsor, and will provide Championship balls for matches and comp. uniforms to all Member Clubs. We also will provide for balloting for A.S.L.
